Reviews:
* Some people buy minivans and cargo vans because they have to, not because they want to. Ford's Transit Connect combines the function of a van with the fun of driving a car, and does it for a reasonable price. This is a very easy van to park and maneuver, another plus. Source: KBB.com
* With its sleek and stylish exterior, the Transit Connect exudes a professional image. That look is matched by intelligent features. For example, large side panels are ideal for displaying the name of your company with colorful, effective graphics. Glass options let you tailor the Transit Connect to your individual needs. Open the door. Accommodating seats available in a variety of fabrics and available amenities make for a very comfortable interior. The 2014 Transit Connect - smart looks and smart features make this a smart choice. The Transit Connect is designed to help you work smart. Long- and short-wheelbase choices allow you to select the model that meets your business needs. Large side panels let you display your company name and graphics. Side and rear cargo door choices provide loading/unloading options, while fold-flat seats in the long wheelbase wagon let you carry passengers and/or cargo. Available SYNC and SYNC with MyFord Touch allow you to access vehicle functions using simple voice commands. There are even available features that can aid you with parking. The hardworking, Built Ford Tough Transit Connect is designed to do what you demand of it. It has a payload of up to 1,650 lbs. (van) and more than 130 cu. ft. of storage room behind the front-row seats. When properly equipped, it can tow up to 2,000 lbs. There's another side to this vehicle, the wagon can carry up to 7 passengers with the available 3rd-row seat. The front-passenger seat (on select models) and rear seats can fold down for storage room when not being used for passengers. The small turning radius also makes it the ideal urban work vehicle. The 2014 Transit Connect features two engines new for the Transit Connect, the standard 2.5L Duratec engine and the available 1.6L EcoBoost engine, both of which deliver an efficient performance. If you want to operate using compressed natural gas or liquefied petroleum gas, the Transit Connect can be equipped with the CNG/LPG Gaseous Prep Package. Source: The Manufacturer Summary

  • Much better than all the others!

Tried one of each of the major manufacturers and settled on this one early in 2014. Have run it hard and it has worked flawlessly. Carry a lot of equipment and run the AC non stop. Never over heated like our nv did and still gets great fuel mileage. Got the 2.5 six speed auto which works really good on heavy loads. Blower is powerful for the AC and heater and no issues with electronics. All in all it's been one of the most dependable work trucks I have owned. Would like a more comfortable seat but that's because I sit in it 10-12 hours a day! Plenty of headroom. Good van.
  • Great Van for Value

We have owned 2 Toyota Sienna vans back to back over last 13 years. We enjoyed them but needed a smaller foot print van with seating for 7 to move overseas. We bought an XLT with basically all the upgrades new this summer for under $26k! My Sienna was loaded new in 2006 and it was $42k. Hence a huge price difference, but there are a few trades. Yes, its a smaller van and even loaded it doesn't have all the same "luxury" a loaded Sienna has....but I will admit that nearly every Sienna power seat folding seat and electric sliding door in the van failed beyond repair at the 7 year mark, so I wasn't ready to go thru that again and the Transit being manual was fine with me this time!! We drive it loaded with our five kids and it has fine acceleration and handles like a sedan not a van actually. It is space limited for bags and stuff when all 7 seats are full, but we threw a Yakima box on top for trips and baggage...no problem. Gas economy is good, but you will find yourself at the pump on trips more often because it has a smaller gas tank, not bad MPG. The big back gate door is a bit of effort to close, so you may consider the clam shell rear door version. But the big door is nice unloading in the rain, big canopy effect. The panoramic sunroof is huge and the family loves it. Voice commanded climate system is nice. But Nav system isn't compatible with European ford maps (all fords have this issue). Stateside XM real time WX radar imaging is very cool! It showed us a huge storm front approaching before we got to it and we avoided bad weather in hwy. Lastly, getting into back seat is a bit cumbersome to fold seat each time for little guys, but the full folding flat cargo space with high ceiling is awesome to load stuff into it to haul around!!! Bottom line....for under $30k loaded "un-mini van" that drives like a sedan you cant beat it!

My wife and I both like it. We ask if we want a different vehicle after a couple years and the answer is no. It hauls people and furniture while being easy to park and get good mileage. We even used it to pull a motorcycle and utility trailer.
